"Vioniè" 2018 produced by the Sordo winery is a pure Viognier made in one of the most famous areas of Piedmont: the Langhe. This varietal was originally cultivated only in the northern Rhone Valley, nowadays it is highly appreciated for its scents and aromas. The colour is a very bright straw yellow, the nose rejoices with fruity notes of peach and hints of white flowers, citrus peel and sage. The taste is velvety, enveloping, slightly savoury and with a finish that surprises for its persistence

of full ripening of the grapes, and the most beautiful and healthy bunches are pressed very gently to extract the must. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 17-18 °C. The wine matures in steel on the fine lees for 3 months and completes its aging with another 3 months in the bottle before being released for sale.

The “Vioniè” by Giovanni Sordo is a white wine of good structure, intense and rich. It is particularly suitable for pairing with flavorful first courses, baked fish, or white meats. It presents in the glass a light straw yellow color with bright reflections. The olfactory profile is broad and intense, with aromas of citrus peel, notes of ripe white peach, gooseberry, apricot, floral nuances of acacia, orange blossom, hints of herbal notes, star anise, and soft oriental spices. The taste is harmonious and smooth, with a very complex aromatic spectrum and great gustatory persistence. The finish is long, savory, and very balanced.
