Nerè' Feudo Maccari 2022

The "Nerè" from the Sicilian winery Feudo Maccari is a fresh and young wine, with a fragrant and fruity character. It is produced with pure Nero d’Avola, the most typical red grape variety of Sicily, which expresses some of the best versions in the area of the Valle di Noto. It is a red wine vinified only in steel, aiming to keep alive the ancient tradition of the territory to produce an easy-drinking vintage wine that offers the immediate pleasure of rich and ripe fruit.

The wine "Nerè" is born in the Tenuta Feudo Maccari, located right in the heart of the Val di Noto. There are 170 hectares of property, of which about fifty are cultivated with vineyards. The Nero d’Avola vines are found on gentle and low hills, characterized by the presence of poor and sandy soils. The climate is very hot and dry, only mitigated by the constant breezes from the Mediterranean Sea. The vines are trained according to the ancient alberello method, a planting form that particularly adapts to dry areas. At the end of the harvest, the grapes undergo fermentation in steel tanks, with skin maceration. Before bottling, the wine matures for a few months in steel tanks.

The red "Nerè" from Tenuta Feudo Maccari is a wine with a Mediterranean profile, harmonious, pleasantly soft, expressing all the ripeness of the fruit and the warmth of the Sicilian land. It presents itself with a ruby color with youthful purple hues. The bouquet is intense with aromas of berries, ripe cherry, floral nuances, aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub, and delicate spicy hints. The taste is crunchy and juicy, with fruit that has a fragrant pulp. The tannic texture is harmonious and well integrated into the body of the wine, which finishes with pleasantly fresh notes.
