The Sardinian wine Carignano del Sulcis Superiore “Gavino” is a red with intense aromas, where Carignano rises to excellent levels, achieving an envied depth, both on the nose and in the mouth. This is thanks to the work done by the Mesa winery and its owner, Gavino Sanna, who celebrates himself in this label where personality and character abound. A perfect bottle to discover a high-quality red wine, expanding your geographical atlas to Sardinia.
The Carignano del Sulcis Superiore “Gavino” is made from pure grapes of an important variety in the Sardinian wine scene, the Carignano. The vines of this variety are still on their own roots and have an average age of about 65 years; they are cultivated using the alberello method and sink their roots into sandy and clayey soils. The grapes, carefully harvested during the harvest by the Mesa winery team, ferment in steel, macerating for about 25 days, without any filtration. Then the maturation process takes place, carried out for 18 months in oak barrels, after which the wine is ready to come.bottled and marketed.
The “Gavino” Carignano del Sulcis Superiore presents itself to the eye with an intense and deep ruby red color, with some light garnet tinges at the rim. The fascinating array of aromas envelops the nose, structured on layered notes, where fruity notes transition to spicy, in a rainbow of balanced aromas. On the palate, it has an excellent structure, is full-bodied, with a smooth and velvety sip, derived from the finely integrated tannic texture. It finishes with a finale characterized by a savory aftertaste and fruit in spirits. A label with which the Mesa winery, a young production reality, confirms its accelerated path towards quality peaks recognized by the main Italian sector guides.
